The hotel "Valday" is situated in a National Park in the heart of central Russia, 400 km North-West of Moscow and 300 km South-East of St.-Petersburg. The lake Uzhin surrounds the hotel site, which occupies two semi-islands covered by forest. Large distance from big cities and roads ensures clean air and water in this area, and gives a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the beauty of Russian nature.

The Kremlin of Novgorod - the Detinets

Novgorod is an ancient city whose history dates back to the IX century. Capital of the Republic of Novgorod, in XII to XV centuries it was one of the biggest and most powerful Russian cities. Vast trade with Western and Eastern Europe entailed its prosperity and wealth which lead in turn to the development of culture and art. Many of the architectural and painting masterpieces created at that time have survived till our days. Among them are worldwide famous St.Sophia's Cathedral (1045-1050), the Cathedral of St. Nicholas in the Prince Yard near the Market (1113) and many others.
